Clarifying the purpose of Bible805 and its part in the Great Conversation

2026-06-18 by bible805

The Great Conversation is my term for the combined teachings of all followers of Jesus as we attempt to share Him with our world. I believe it’s important to clarify the place of Bible805 in all the other options you have for learning the Bible, for those of you using my resources so there are no unrealistic expectations.

To do that, I’ll first clarify what I mean by the Great Conversation and then what I believe is my part and the part of Bible805 in it. Below is the podcast and then the text of it.

The importance of understanding the Great Conversation

Motivation to teach the foundational truths of the Christian life to your people

2026-06-14 by Yvon Prehn

I just finished teaching a series on Ancient Prophets, Modern Messages, and two passages stood out to and convicted me as a Bible teacher. They are:

Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

Malachi 2:7-8 “For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth. 8 But you have turned from the way and by your teaching have caused many to stumble;

We don’t need to go back to the Old Testament prophets to see evidence of what happens to the people of God when they aren’t taught the foundational truths of the Christian faith, when they are not grounded in God’s Word and are taught primarily to go it to feel better and be more positive about life.

That doesn’t last much beyond the last praise song.

You can either listen to the podcast of this content or read the rest of  the post below it–

Remainder of 2026 Bible805 Schedule, June 12 through Jan.1, and reasons for the topics chosen

2026-06-14 by Yvon Prehn

Build a solid foundation of the Bible into your life
Don’t miss any of the lessons below to build a solid Biblical foundation in your life.

Theme of this schedule of classes:
The Biblical Foundation and knowledge needed for a growing disciple of Jesus

I’m currently finishing a series on Ancient Prophets, Modern Messages; lessons on the series and links to all resources on it can be found on the www.Bible805.com site. The modern messages from these ancient prophets are many and challenging, but one that has come up again and again in these books is that the people were in the disobedient, sad, and sinful conditions they were in because of a lack of clear teaching, of God’s Word in their lives and the fault is most often laid at the feet of the priests, of those who should be teaching.

I was hit in the heart with that! I know each person is responsible for their personal intake of God’s Word and application of it, but at the same time the Bible consistently reminds teachers of their responsibility to be teachers of God’s Word.

The prophets reminded me of what I need to do as a teacher and after a lot of prayer and thought about how I can help the the people in the Bible classes I am responsible for (the live one I teach and those who listen and watch to Bible805 materials online) I’ve come up with the schedule I’m sharing with you.

What follows is a series of classes for between now and the end of 2026.

Wrapped up in love, three of the most important foundational truths for a realistic life with God

2026-06-14 by Yvon Prehn

Job_Rebuked_by_His_Friend
Check out the lessons on Answers to the Big Questions of Life, from Genesis and Job for answers to the tough challenges of life.

This post is from Answers to the Big Questions of Life from Genesis and Job, Part One

Key verse: “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much.” Job 38:4, TLB

One of the worst things in life is being deceived about something important—if we think someone loves us and we find out they don’t; if we think a job we love isn’t what thought it would be; if we find out we aren’t the person we thought we were—believing something important and then finding out we were wrong can be devastating.

That reality is vitally true with our relationship to God. We must believe the correct things about Him for our walk with Him to make sense and for us to make the right decisions in how we follow Him. Sadly, many of the teachings today, even in the church, focus on simply what will make us feel good and if God doesn’t make us feel good or do what we want Him to do, many get mad and walk away.

Our lesson series on Genesis and Job was created to help you gain a clearer picture of what to expect in your relationship with Him. The three foundational truths I’m about to share, if looked at alone, can appear harsh and even cruel at times. But it is important to remember that wrapped up in every hard concept of God, everything that is difficult to understand, or a trial we are given to endure, comes from a God who is, above all things LOVE. There are NO advertising or Affiliate links on this website and here’s why (this is very important)

2026-05-23 by bible805

Please note, this is a reprint from my previous ministry Effective Church Communications, but the opinions here are the same for this site and my ministries, on the www.effectivechurchcom.com site, there were more considerations as the possible recommendations were larger, but this content is updated for Bible805.

It is important to clarify the stand of Bible805 (and previously of my ministry Effective Church Communications) on recommendations, advertising, and affiliate marketing, in part because my position in these areas is very different from most websites, including Christian ones. Please know I am not judging the practices and motives of other sites by what follows. We all serve the same Lord, and He has many ways to work and we are all accountable to our Lord for our decisions.

That being said, though there are many ways to interact with vendors and ministries, the following is what I feel the Lord wants for my ministries, and here is the summary statement.

Bible805 and all associated ministries, past and present does not take any paid advertising, nor do I swap advertising, take free products for review, or take part in any affiliate programs. The only items advertised and sold on our sites are those I produce, and at present, the only ones I sell are books by me, Yvon Prehn. Any recommendations given or lists of or links to useful resources are totally at my discretion, based on what I’ve found personally useful, and may be modified or removed at any time.

To clarify and expand this position please read the following materials. [Read more…]
