There are many resources here for you. This video quickly previews them and tells you the schedule of when they are posted. Check it out to get the most out of the website. All the resources on the site are FREE. The only related materials that cost are the Yvon Prehn books that are sold on Amazon and other online resources. Bible805 is a donor-supported ministry that provides resources for you to know, trust, and apply the Bible for yourself. In addition, the Bible805 resources are available, again for free, for you to use to teach others. In addition, all the teaching resources are editable and can be used without attribution. Check out the video here for a tour and details about all that is available for you.
Why you might have a tough time teaching the Bible today and how Bible805 can help
I’m full of disclaimers and caveats, and I know that there are exceptions to everything I say that follows. I acknowledge there are many ways to teach and disciple, but the Bible805 content-intensive system of teaching is what’s worked for me for many years, and it has resulted in significant spiritual growth in people that have taken my Bible classes.
To explain how I’ve come up with the methods I use in Bible 805 to enable you to know, trust, apply, and teach the Bible, we’re going to look at two apostles: Peter and Paul, the radically different audiences they faced, and how they used different methods to reach them.
We’ll then look at similar situations that occur in our world, and I’ll share how I put together the Bible805 foundation for Bible teaching, which I’ve summarized into 7 Observations:
First is a podcast of the material and then the script for it:
Motivation to teach the foundational truths of the Christian life to your people
I just finished teaching a series on Ancient Prophets, Modern Messages, and two passages stood out to and convicted me as a Bible teacher. They are:
Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
Malachi 2:7-8 “For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, because he is the messenger of the Lord Almighty and people seek instruction from his mouth. 8 But you have turned from the way and by your teaching have caused many to stumble;
We don’t need to go back to the Old Testament prophets to see evidence of what happens to the people of God when they aren’t taught the foundational truths of the Christian faith, when they are not grounded in God’s Word and are taught primarily to go it to feel better and be more positive about life.
That doesn’t last much beyond the last praise song.

NOTE: this entry was originally done for my Ministry Miscellany Podcast and I am putting it in this section also as it is an excellent explanation of what Bible805 does and why I do what I do.
