Why We Can Trust the Bible Lesson Series

2023-08-14 by bible805

Why we can trust the BibleThis is a fascinating series of videos that begins with my personal search for what is true in the Christian faith.

Before deconstructing your faith (getting to the core of what may or may not be true in it) was popular to do, years ago I found myself asking if what I believed was because it had always been what I’d been told by people I loved and trusted or if it was objectively true?

My search ended up with me getting a master’s degree in history focusing on the early church. I somehow thought that if I could discover what was true in the Christian faith for all time, that would help me discover if I could trust it.

Along the way, I learned how the tools of history give us a way to determine objective truth. Since I was studying at a secular university, (the University of Colorado, CS), under professors who did not subscribe to the Christian faith, I knew I was learning to be brutally honest with my research, and at the end of the years of my graduate study in ancient history, majoring on the history of the church, which was followed by attending seminary (Fuller), I came to the conclusion that what the Bible taught was true history and could be relied upon for life and salvation.

This series of videos takes you through my exploration of truth and history and then expands to applying what I learned to other religions. I asked the question, “If the Bible has historical anchors that ground it in truth, do other religions have the same thing?”

No spoiler alerts here…..you need to watch the videos to see how the Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, and Mormon scriptures compare.

Following are the lessons in this series and the links to both the free versions and the resource files that will enable you to teach it.
