It is a collection of images of quotes about the Trinity. Like the ones below. Click on the first image for a slide show of the quotes.

The book is 8.5 x 11, full-color, glossy finish on the prints, 50 pages, $15.99 on amazon.com.

It can be used as a book of inspiration and personal worship as you think about the wonder of our Triune God. In addition, it is a source of frameable quotes. A free and easy way to share the Gospel message this Christmas season

by

8.5 x 11 size Christmas Evangelism PDFs images_Page_2
A Christmas letter that explains the true meaning of Christmas is an essential outreach tool for your Christmas events.

We want our people to share their faith and this communication gives them an easy and non-threatening way to do it. One year, I posted the material below on our Adult Sunday School Class website and gave out a sample to our adult class. I printed the black and white image on a blue parchment-type paper. I encouraged them to go to the website and print it out for their Christmas letters and to share with friends. You are welcome to copy any or all of it and you can put them on your church or class website for your people to share.

Below the sample that I shared with my class are some color versions, spot-color separations, and versions that are in a tri-fold brochure format. All of these are available in two ZIP files at the end of this article. This letter/brochure or any other piece that clearly explains the reason for Christmas and the meaning of salvation in Jesus is essential for your church to share at all your holiday outreach events. Jesus came to save us from our sins, not to give us reasons to buy stuff or even so we can have wonderful family celebrations. We need to be clear about the true Christmas message to people who may only come to our church at this time of year–this piece gives you an easy and effective way to do it. [Read more…]

You become what you think about—carefully plan your mental munching

junk food, not good for body or souls
Eating foods like these won’t nourish our bodies, and we need to take equal care to not feed our souls junk.

We all know that if we eat a constant diet of junk food, candy, and honestly delicious fast food, we probably won’t have a healthy body. We’ve got to eat a healthy diet and exercise if we want to all we can be to do all God wants us to do. And even more importantly to experience joy and peace in our lives that’s hard to do if we’re abusing our bodies.

The challenge is that to eat the right things isn’t nearly as easy as reaching for those little packets of cookies and chips and swinging through the drive-through. It takes work and planning for a consistently healthy diet and workout plan.

It’s no different with our souls—

What we take in mentally and how we exercise it by putting what we learn into consistent practice makes a huge difference in our mental and spiritual health. [Read more…]

The exciting news is that in the short time I’ve made them free, there have been hundreds of downloads of these Bible-teaching materials by people all over the world including downloading from South Africa, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, Hungary, the UK, France, Canada, and lots from the U.S.

My prayer has been for these resources to equip those who need them, especially under-resourced, new churches, missionaries, church plants, and anyone else who can benefit from them. God is gracious as I’ve had various challenges and haven’t been able to do anything to advertise these resources—I have no idea how people found them, though I know the Lord can work in amazing ways!

Teaching tip: Be careful of personal illustrations—keep the focus on Jesus and the Word

by

Child and Bible
Your family may be a wonderful source of illustrations, but the best source is the Bible itself.

Popular advice on preaching and teaching advises that the teacher scatter into their lesson illustrations from their lives to make their message more relatable.

Doing that may have some value, but it also has some pitfalls that may lessen the impact of your message or lesson. Following are three reasons why this might be the case and some advice on what to use instead of personal illustrations. [Read more…]

“Pastors are tired” – a help for that and yet, what do you expect?

by

Dog-tired in ministry
Are you tired in ministry? Here is a resource that will help.

“Pastors are tired” has been a recent headline in several ministry communications. When I read it, I had two conflicting thoughts that I’ll share. Be warned, the first is a bit grumpy, but it is followed by what I hope is a compassionate and helpful resource (stick around for that, it’s worth it). [Read more…]
